Documentary Photography

My documentary photography is about real stories, told with honesty and respect. Whether I’m covering a rural festival, a local tradition, or everyday life in the Dales, I aim to capture people and places as they are — unposed, unscripted, and full of character. From children’s sports days and community gatherings to musicians behind the scenes and working farms in changing seasons, my approach is observational and unobtrusive. I focus on small details and fleeting moments that, together, create a vivid, truthful record of life. Working mainly across the North of England and the Isle of Arran, I often document events and organisations in a way that balances atmosphere with authenticity — providing images that can stand alone or support editorial, archival, or promotional work. If you’d like to discuss a project or commission, please feel free to get in touch.
