Swaledale Marathon 2025 – Capturing Endurance in the Dales
The Swaledale Marathon returned to the Yorkshire Dales this weekend, and it was a brilliant showcase of endurance, determination, and the raw beauty of our local landscape. I was out on the trails throughout the day, capturing moments from this much-loved event as runners made their way through the twisting lanes, rugged paths, and rolling green hills of Swaledale.
From the early stretches lined with wild roses to the shaded woodland tracks and the signature “self clip” checkpoints, each scene brought something different. There were tired legs, triumphant smiles, and that unmistakable sense of camaraderie that makes the Swaledale Marathon so special.
Photographing this event is always a highlight of the summer — a chance to document not just a physical challenge, but a celebration of the great outdoors and the people who embrace it.

Whether you took part, supported from the sidelines, or just love the Dales, I hope these photos bring the day to life.
