Grinton Moor Bridge on the road linking Grinton and Leyburn was destroyed in the floods on 30th July. The damage caused shows clearly just how powerful and destructive the flooding was. The bridge forms part of the route for the UCI World Championships Elite men's road race in September. North Yorkshire County Council have announced plans to erect a temporary replacement for the bridge meaning the race will be able to keep its intended route.
